Her ability to adapt, collaborate, and create spiritually resonant music highlights her dedication to community and service.
Yatta began her formal music education at a young age, studying both piano and voice through private instruction, school ensembles, and local conservatory programs. Yatta continued to deepen her piano skills through classical training and contemporary styles. What Yatta loves most about music—especially piano and voice—is how expressive and transformative it can be. Whether Yatta is performing or teaching, she enjoys helping others connect emotionally to music while building solid technical foundations.
Yatta has had the pleasure of teaching students from ages 3 to adult, and she tailor's her lessons to each student's goals, learning style, and developmental level. Yatta often uses popular method series, such as Faber, Alfred, and Music for Little Mozarts for piano. With her Voice students, she incorporates Solfège, sight-singing, and breathing techniques as a strong foundation to build upon. Yatta believes in fostering and supporting a well-rounded musical education that includes technique, ear training, music theory, and creativity. Her ultimate goal for all students she works with is to build confidence and a genuine love for music that lasts a lifetime!
In addition to teaching piano and voice, Yatta holds a B.S. in Clinical Psychology from George Mason University and an A.S. in Psychology from Northern Virginia Community College. Her work is rooted in patience, communication, and a deep love for helping others grow through the power of music.
