About Shirley Wu
Shirley began her piano lessons when she was 4 years old. Shirley received her Bachelor's degree in Piano Performance and Pure Science double D.E.C. from Vanier College in 2009 and classical piano performance from McGill University in 2013. As a performer, Shirley has performed in Tanna Schulich Hall, Pollack Hall, Salle Claude Champagne, Vanier Auditorium, Rialto Theater, Westmount Senior Residence, St Laurent Church. As a professional musician, Shirley has been an active accompanist for numerous master classes and numerous musicians around BC and Seattle areas.
Shirley is a wonderful piano instructor with a warm personality. Shirley operated a successful piano studio in Toronto, Canada, where she taught piano to 80 students. Her students had successfully completed Royal Conservatory Music (RCM) performances adjudications and high level examinations. Shirley focuses her lessons on the details of performance. She believes that having a solid foundation of the fundamental techniques is the key to building confidence and proficiency in piano performance.
Music is spirit, I believe in continuous learning and searching for the perfect teaching method and I always aim to pass on my love and appreciation for music to others around me.
