Motivated by the journey of self-expression, Ruben Espinosa has devoted his life to music and composition. His passion for music can be seen through his ability to play guitar and bass, as well as in his songwriting. After graduating from the jazz program at the Dillard Center for the Arts, Ruben moved to New York City for 3 years to study and work with local musicians; while in the Big Apple, he had the opportunity to perform and record with ensembles in Manhattan and Brooklyn, including Cherry Soul, Javier Santiago, Bria Ariel, and DP Soul. Ruben is currently pursuing a degree in music business at Miami Dade College.
Ruben enjoys performing many types of music, including rock, rhythm and blues, pop, metal, hip hop, jazz, soul, latin, fusion, and funk. Inspired by the remarkable music of the 60s and 90s, he is influenced by musical acts such as Jimi Hendrix, Cream, John Coltrane, Miles Davis, Nirvana, Erykah Badu, Black Sabbath, and much more. Teaching guitar and bass are the instruments he is most excited about, and he also teaches improvisation, music theory, and song-writing. Music is one the most beautiful aspects of the human experience and he prides himself in giving the gift of music to others so they can express themselves.
