    About Nathaniel Davila

Canton GA native, Nathaniel Davila, is a composer, pianist, and singer pursuing his B.M. in Music Composition at the Bob Bailey School of Music. He began piano lessons in 2012 and has been immersed in music ever since.

He studied classical piano with David Palmer, Shirley Irek, Dr. Brent Runnels, and Julie Coucheron. Additionally, he participated in various masterclasses and competitions, most notably studying at the Reinhardt Piano Festival and advancing as a top-10 state finalist at GMTA’s piano auditions in 2018.

Nathaniel not only loves playing music but even more so writing it. Over the years, this passion has been refined and developed into a deep interest in film composition. Originally self-taught in music production, he later studied digital audio production under producer and violinist Ashanti Floyd (2017–2018), composition at Boston University Tanglewood Institute’s summer Electro-Acoustic Composition Workshop (2019), and scoring for film, games, and television at New York University’s Screen Scoring Workshops (2020–2021). Nathaniel also studied music composition with Dr. Justin Casinghino and Dr. Timothy Powell and is completing his B.M. in Music Composition under Dr. Laurence Sherr.

During this time, Nathaniel has run a small production and composition business, OddE8 Productions, collaborating with a variety of creatives and companies.

While pursuing his undergraduate degree in composition, Nathaniel has concurrently studied classical and jazz voice. He has performed with the Bailey School of Music’s Choral Ensemble, Chamber Singers, Opera, and Jazz Vocal Combo while maintaining a choral scholarship at St. James Episcopal Church in Marietta.

At the foundation of Nathaniel’s love for music is his passion for learning and teaching. Since 2019, he has taught piano, music theory, and music production, both privately and for hire. He believes that teaching is fundamental to spreading the joy of musicianship within his community and abroad.

Outside of music, Nathaniel maintains writing and photography as his two main hobbies, and appreciates being in nature, films, and engaging in other creative pursuits.
