Having earned a scholarship to attend The Idyllwild Arts Academy, a performing arts boarding high school in the San Bernardino Forest, to studying at The New School of Jazz and Contemporary Music in the Lower Eastside of Manhattan, Moe has had an extensive background of training.
During his time, he studied under various jazz artists including Marshall Hawkins, Ron Stout, Jimmy Owens, Cecil Bridgewater, and Tony Glausi; attained national recognition on trumpet through the Young Arts Foundation; and played the Jazz Festival at the Hollywood Bowl. He has also performed at The Grammy Museum with Grammy award winning artist, Lalah Hathaway, and even marched the 6.5 mile route in the 2015 New Year’s Day Rose Parade.
In addition to his playing, he has experience composing jazz and classical music alongside having scored a handful of indie films in high school. He also has done engraving/copyist work for various artists including Brian Newman and Lady Gaga. After all of these amazing opportunities and experiences, Moe wants to pass on that love, appreciation, and deep passion for music on to his students so that they may have those same amazing and life altering moments.
Moe’s goal is to provide a fun, enriching, and fulfilling learning environment while instilling a deep understanding and appreciation of music. Moe’s students will be given the tools to be successful and happy in music through practice routines, specialized learning, and lots of enthusiasm. They will also learn that progress takes time, so patience and perseverance are a must. He invites all ages and skill levels to start the journey of music with him and will do everything to ensure his students are progressing and most importantly, enjoying themselves. He has only one rule, just try your hardest!
