Michelle Berry is very passionate about music education and she loves sharing her skills with others. She began taking private piano lessons at the age of 7 and private clarinet lessons at the age of 12.
Michelle's teaching experience began in high school, teaching beginning piano and clarinet lessons to a handful of young friends and neighbors in Texas City, TX.
She has a bachelor's degree from Sam Houston State University and a master's degree from the University of Houston, both degrees in Music Education with a concentration in clarinet. Michelle studied clarinet with Ralph Mills, Jeff Lerner, and Chester Rowell who are some of the top musicians in the greater Houston area. Michelle also studied music education with Eddie Green. She is a member of the Sigma Alpha Iota Music Sorority, Texas Band Masters Association, and Texas Music Educators Association. Michelle is currently a public school Band Director, where she loves creating fun and exciting music lessons for her students. She is also regularly performs as a bass clarinetist in the Sugarland Winds Concert Band and a clarinetist in the Scott Joplin Chamber Orchestra. Her most notable musical experience was traveling to perform in 7 different countries in Europe with the Greater Houston Area Band. She enjoys riding her bike in the neighborhood and spending quality time with family and friends. Michelle has experience in teaching piano, flute, saxophone, trumpet, baritone, trombone, tuba, and clarinet/bass clarinet students. Her greatest love is teaching music and building wonderful connections with her students!
