About Michael Garnier

With over twenty years of experience, Michael’s musical vocabulary extends across many genres. Originally from St. Louis, Missouri, Michael’s musical journey began with private instruction on the drum set starting at the age of twelve and progressed through high school; performing in both the school’s jazz program as well as local rock groups.

He went on to study with Dr. Michael Sekelski at Central Missouri State University. After receiving a B.A. in Music, Mike relocated to Japan and taught English. While there, he continued to study drums with Scott Latham and became the house drummer at CrossRoads 66 for two years.

Being an avid lover of the outdoors, Mike relocated to the Vail Valley in Colorado. After a brief hiatus in the mountains, he has settled in the Denver area and is currently teaching and performing locally through the front range.
