McKenna has made violin her life for 15 years now. From an early age her family instilled in her the importance of music in childhood by enrolling her in the music magnet program at Parker Elementary where she was Suzuki trained. McKenna followed this passion for the violin into middle and high school where, as a student of the Kinder High School for the Performing and Visual Arts, she participated in the All Region and TMEA All State orchestras. She now studies under the brilliant instruction of Dr. Kirsten Yon at the University of Houston.
Coming from a very piano-heavy family, McKenna has also had extensive training and performance in piano as well as choral singing in the Anglican tradition. Her choral training has been forefront in her development as a collaborative musician and her experience with the keyboard has helped to enrich and support every aspect of her musicianship.
