Matthew Darr is a 2022 graduate from the University of Delaware, where he studied trombone performance with Dr. Bruce Tychinski. A native of Stoystown, PA, Matt received his Bachelor of Science in Education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in Music Education, studying trombone under Dr. Christian Dickinson. He has performed in several masterclasses for internationally acclaimed trombonists and has performance experience in nearly every indoor and outdoor band setting, brass consorts, as well as solo experience with piano/organ. He has performed with the Warren Philharmonic, The Heritage Players, Altoona Brass Collective, Keystone Chamber Winds, and various school districts/churches in the southwestern PA, Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, and southern Delaware areas. While seeking education opportunities, Matt is still deeply passionate about performance. He currently is affiliated with the Blue Diamond Brass Quintet, formed mostly of former graduate students from the University of Delaware.
