Mo Dow (they/them) is a multi-instrumentalist, singer, and composer. Mo graduated Cum Laude from Whitman College with a BA in Music Technology and Production (with honors), and received the Myrtle (Melter) Vinson Memorial Award for Music. While attending Whitman, they played jazz guitar and bass in the jazz ensemble, sang in the Chorale, and wrote music both for chamber ensembles and full orchestra.
Since graduating, Mo has been working as a recording and live sound engineer, while also gigging regularly. As a professional musician, they has toured across the Pacific Northwest, playing dozens of gigs at venues from Seattle to Denver, playing rock, pop, funk, and jazz, performing on stage on bass, guitar, keys, and vocals.
A passionate teacher of classical, electric, and acoustic guitar, as well as electric bass, piano, vocals, and classical composition, Mo strives to teach with patience and understanding. They believe in always meeting a student where they are, finding out what music makes them engaged, and exploring that together. Rather than only working on technical skill on an instrument, Mo’s method focuses on instilling a deep love of music that can be carried on through life, and keeping their students playing for years to come.
