    About Lee Weiskirch

Lee Weskirch was raised in a musically rich environment in metro Detroit, where he was surrounded by musicians from an early age. His curiosity and dedication led him to learn an impressive range of instruments, becoming proficient in roughly a dozen of them by the time he reached eighteen. During his high school years, he also began composing his own music, developing not only technical skill but a personal artistic voice that would continue to evolve throughout his life.

Lee pursued his passion academically by studying music and the fine arts in college. In 2009, he earned his Associate of Arts degree with a focus on music theory, ear training, piano performance, & choral singing. These disciplines sharpened his analytical and listening abilities. He continued his education with further studies in jazz theory and music composition. Alongside his academic work, he built a substantial performance career, playing in numerous live and recording bands, while also writing and performing original music on several of his own records.

Since 2012, Lee has worked as a private music teacher, drawing on his wide-ranging instrumental experience to offer students a uniquely comprehensive perspective on musicianship. His familiarity with many instruments allows him to understand the distinct challenges and expressive possibilities each one presents. Over years of teaching, he has refined his approach, discovering effective and engaging ways to make learning music enjoyable and accessible. He continues to compose art songs and frequently writes original pieces tailored for his students to perform. Beyond music, Lee is also the author of eight books on dreams and psychology, an avid chess player, and a casual student of the French language.
