About Laura Diaz
Born and raised in Miami, Laura Diaz started her career in music at the age of eight years old. She began her venture into the musical world with piano and guitar through private lessons.
Eventually, Laura picked up the clarinet in her middle school band, and never put it down. Shortly thereafter, she also started to learn saxophone and bass clarinet. By age eleven, she knew she wanted to pursue music further. In high school, she was band captain and the lead clarinetist. For 7 years, Laura performed with the Greater Miami Youth Symphony (GMYS) and worked for GMYS up until this October. Via the GMYS she had the opportunity to travel to Ireland in 2014 to play with the Dublin Youth orchestra.
Laura currently studies at Miami Dade College (MDC) as a music education major. She is part of the wind ensemble, film score orchestra at MDC and also plays for the Greater Miami Symphonic Band.
Currently Laura teaches at her high school that she graduated from running a clarinet choir. She also works at Kendall Conservatory of Music and loves teaching private music lessons with Lessons In Your Home!
