About Kelvin Penn

Kelvin Penn is a piano player, music producer, and singer songwriter from the Pacific Northwest. His musical journey was, and still is a long one. His first instrument was saxophone which he played in concert band. Growing older into his teens, Kelvin decided to pick up piano - he fell in love with the learning process mainly by writing juvenile songs.

Coming in to the early 2010s, Kelvin started to become a savvy producer for hip hop and R&B artists. In 2019, he formed his band Race to the Light, a soul funk fusion band from Tacoma, WA that has shared stages with the likes of Apollo Suns, Eldridge Gravy, and more on stages like Madame Lou's and Fremont Friday.

Kelvin enjoys history and science just as much as music. He believes that understanding where we come from can help progress our society forward in a positive manner.
