About Katherine Jones
Soprano Katherine Jones is in the final year of her master's degree in Vocal Performance and Pedagogy at the University of Houston. In addition to her master's studies, Katherine is currently a graduate teaching assistant with the University of Houston, teaching applied voice for undergraduate music majors. Katherine has years of experience teaching students ranging in age from elementary to adult in classical, operatic, and musical theater styles.
In January of 2020 Katherine had her role debut as Contessa Almaviva in Le Nozze di Figaro with the Moores Opera Center. Additionally, she has been seen as Diana (Orpheus in the Underworld), Millicent Jordan (Dinner at Eight), Gertrude (Hänsel und Gretel), and Sarah (The Ballad of Baby Doe) all with the Moores Opera Center. Katherine graduated with her bachelor's degree in vocal performance with a minor in Spanish from Indiana University in 2018. With the Indiana University Opera Theater, Katherine performed the roles of Mrs. Squires (The Music Man) and Mrs. Delgado (It's a Wonderful Life).
