    About Julie Vargas

Julie Vargas specializes in piano, woodwinds, voice, songwriting and artist development, and early childhood music. She began her musical journey as an award-winning, full-scholarship saxophone performance major at Central Michigan University and continued to expand her horizons, recording a contemporary pop album of original music and performing regionally, while also working in the child development field for over 12 years. She has taught band and music in several private schools, homeschool groups, and churches, and attended artist development training conferences regularly in Nashville, TN, honing her knowledge of stage performance, songwriting, artist development, and vocal technique from experts in pop, country, and gospel genres.

Julie has extensive experience - over 16 years of private lessons teaching- in preparing saxophone and clarinet students for solo and ensemble competitions in classical and jazz genres, from middle school ages to college level music education, and many of her students have placed top in the district and state of Florida. She has studied classical music composition, as well, and loves to compose for orchestral instruments, as well as teach the foundations of composition for those that wish to learn. In piano, Julie has studied with excellent instructors to help prepare her beginner and intermediate piano students for both classical/traditional and pop genres. She accepts piano students from ages 4-adult at the beginner to early intermediate levels. For students who desire to learn, she will expand into songwriting techniques and vocal training, as well.

Julie loves spending every moment she can with her husband, three kids, and her two stubborn but adorable dachshunds, and has developed a huge passion for photography and creative writing, and dishing up healthy meals. All three of her children have extensive experience in music, dance, film, the arts, and sports, so Julie understands how music lessons fit into family dynamics with practice requirements and busy schedules. She believes music lessons makes a student well-rounded and enhances every area of life.
