    About Joshua Moses

Josh is a passionate music educator with a deep desire to share love for music with his students through voice, piano, and music theory. He grew up in the DFW area with his father, an elementary music teacher, and mother, who was very involved in worship music. As a result, Josh has been surrounded by music his entire life, and can't imagine what life would be like without it. He has been teaching private lessons since 2020 from Searcy, AR, to Chicago, IL, and now back in his hometown in DFW.

Josh holds a Bachelor of Music Education Degree from Harding University. During his time at Harding, he studied with Dr. Susan Shirel (voice), Dr. Kelly Neill (voice/ conducting), Dr. Scott Carrell (piano/ music theory), and Dr. Jay Walls (composition). While at Harding, he served as the music theory tutor, taught voice and piano lessons through Searcy Community School of Music, and sang as a soloist in performances of Handel's Messiah and the Mozart Requiem. He also served as a section leader and student conductor of Harding's premier choral groups. Josh has written various original compositions and commissioned arrangements.

He enjoyed serving as the pianist at North Northbrook United Methodist Church in Northbrook, IL, prior to moving back to Texas. Prior to joining LIYH, he spent the last two years teaching choir in the public school setting, establishing a new program and leading the group to 1st division sightreading ratings at UIL Contest.

Former students would describe Josh as incredibly silly and fun-loving, but with high expectations and goals. He hopes to instill in his students the idea that music is a lens through which we can come to understand and express life's most valuable experiences. When he is not teaching music, you might see him out on the disc golf course, at the bowling alley, or crafting new home recipes. He lives in Frisco with his beautiful wife Ashli, and their Border Collie Mix, Dante.
