About Jonathan Cornell
Jonathan Cornell is excited to be a part of the Lessons in Your Home team as a piano and voice instructor and loves to work with kids, teens and adults of all ages! Jonathan is a new Florida resident and an active performer in South Florida, most recently with the Master Chorale as tenor soloist and as guest artist with "Great Music at St. Gregory's" Concert Series in Boca Raton. He also serves as a rehearsal assistant, vocal coach and accompanist.
A native of Kentucky, Jonathan grew up playing piano, singing and played clarinet and percussion in marching band. He performed regularly with the Louisville Orchestra, Choral Arts Society, Bach Society and Kentucky Opera and other local arts organizations. While living and studying music in NYC he performed in opera and oratorio productions and at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine with longtime friend and colleague Tim Brumfield, and the Long Island Choral Society, among others. He spent two summers in Italy singing opera and oratorio, and regularly traveled to England with the choir of Christ Church, Winnetka as soloist and ensemble member.
Jonathan received his bachelor's from the University of Louisville, studying both voice and piano and a master's in vocal performance from Manhattan School of Music. Additionally,Jonathan also has a master's in clinical mental health counseling and is active as a behavioral health therapist.
