Jazmyn has loved music since she was introduced to the organ as a little kid in south Georgia by her grandmother. She picked up the violin in middle school taught by Georgia's Music Teacher of the Year, Mrs. Kathy Saucier and discovered a true passion from that point forward. Jazmyn became completely enveloped by music and joined a local youth orchestra in addition to her regular orchestral classes in school. Always looking for more opportunities to share her love of music, Jazmyn began volunteering at senior living facilities, churches, choir concerts, and orphanages around the metropolitan area; anything to spread the joy and teachings of violin. She received numerous awards and recognition throughout her high school years such as 'Outstanding member', 'Best Musician', and 'Governor's Honors Program Finalist Award' as well as participating in 'All state Orchestra'. Jazmyn also had various solo opportunities ranging from more modern music such as "Voyage for strings" to classics from the baroque period such as Vivaldi concertos and Bach performances.
Later on, Jazmyn went on to study music at Valdosta State University after receiving a scholarship in music. She majored in music education and also became a music teacher for the first time through a program called South Georgia String Project. Jazmyn's favorite thing about music is that its application spans much deeper than just the theory behind it. Through various volunteer work and teaching opportunities, Jazmyn has enjoyed helping students of all backgrounds and abilities tap into the therapeutic power of music and appreciate all aspects that the violin and viola has to offer.
Whether it be volunteer initiatives in local orphanages, the South Georgia Strings Project, or working with her private students, Jazmyn truly enjoys each opportunity to teach. In her time outside of teaching, Jazmyn enjoys performing at private events such as weddings, engagements, church performances, and funerals in addition to baking gourmet treats to share with her family and friends.
