Teacher Profile: Iris Wong

About Iris Wong

Iris is currently a music education student in CU Boulder. She has been playing piano for over 16 years. She was born and raised in Hong Kong and later moved to Colorado. She has accomplished ABRSM piano and cello certification during high school.

Iris started teaching piano and music theory when she was 18. She has been a cellist in a quintet ensemble and joined different orchestras in colleges. She was in music composition school for a year before she moved to Colorado.

Outside of classical music, Iris has also composed pop music, video game music, EDM, and ambient music as her side gig. She has worked for Minecraft Minigame developers and made customized video game music for them.

Iris always believes in a philosophy that “Everyone deserves music education”, as music is everywhere in our lives. Having fun and sharing music passion are her first teaching priority in her lessons. She will lead you on a wonderful music journey!
