    About Gwendolen Barnard

Gwen has had a love for music since she can remember. When she was 6 her parents got her a piano at her request for self accompaniment, like many of her early influences that she sang along to. She began to teach herself, and took classical lessons off and on in the coming years.

When she was 12 she wanted something more portable as she started songwriting, so she picked up the guitar and began to teach herself that. 2 years later she began taking lessons from Dr. James Satterwhite in Nashville, TN for classical/jazz guitar. After guitar, she picked up bass and her father began bringing home random used instruments to see if she could learn them. She learned ukulele, harmonica, and many other stringed instruments as a result of this fun challenge.

Gwen graduated from Nashville School of the Arts in 2014 majoring in Piano, taking the last year to really focus on those skills learning from Dr. Laura Gabriel while still continuing studies in the other instruments. During that time under Dr. Gabriel she also studied advanced music theory.

Since graduation she has taken the time to teach and focus on personal musical projects such as an experimental grunge band called FINEPRINT whose first album can be found on all major streaming platforms. Gwen is currently focusing on teaching, with a solo project in the works.
