Soprano Faith Fobeneh is a student at Houston Baptist University and studies Vocal Performance. She has sung in choir throughout her youth, and currently sings in HBU’s Schola Cantorum chorus. She has performed the roles of the plaintiff in Trial by Jury and the Countess in Le nozze di Figaro in HBU’s Opera Workshop Ensemble. Ms. Fobeneh has also sung the Soprano solo for Schubert’s Mass No.2 in G Major at HBU’s 2019 President’s concert accompanied by the Houston Civic Symphony. Some of her achievements include the HBU Music Department 2018-19: Outstanding Vocalist award, 1st place in Greater Houston NATS in both 2018 and 2019, 2nd place in the 2019 HBU Concerto Aria Competition, and 5th Place in TEXOMA NATS 2017. Faith Fobeneh taught herself how to play piano at the age of 9 and has become proficient in piano through lessons at HBU.
Ms. Fobeneh believes that each person has a unique sound that distinguishes them from everyone else. The main goal she has for her students is to find their signature sound. She achieves this by thoughtfully planning each lesson based on the student’s goals. She is knowledgeable in genres such as Classical/Opera, R&B/Soul, Pop, Gospel/Christian, Country, and Musical Theatre. Students will not only improve their sound, but also develop musical skills rooted in music theory. Faith Fobeneh is an upbeat, patient, and caring teacher that encourages her students to work hard to reach their full potential.
