Saxophonist Dylan Hong is a devoted educator and a performer who plans to share the intricate connections of music with others. He recently graduated from Northwestern University, Bienen School of Music, where he was a graduate teaching assistant, teaching lessons to undergraduate students at the school.
As a soloist, Hong recently won the Northwestern concerto competition and will be performing William Bolcom’s Concerto for Soprano Saxophone and Band with the world-renowned conductor, Mallory Thompson in the Spring of 2023.
Hong has also won several international awards, including the Music Teacher’s National Association, the North American Saxophone Alliance, Grand Prize International, Berliner International Competition, and more. As an educator, he has taught several masterclasses at Midwestern State University, Brookhaven College, West Texas A&M University, and University of Montana.
Hong has worked with many students, from middle school beginners to adults. His goal is to discover each student's unique way of connecting with music and fostering the love for learning.
