    About Duane Rough

Duane Rough is a dedicated and passionate music teacher who believes that playing music should be fun! His teaching style is a blend of the technical aspects of technique and theory, with an equal focus on performance aspects. He enjoys nothing more than playing music himself, and aims to share his love of the art form with those who choose to study with him. He has wanted to teach music since his first music class in 5th grade, where he started his musical journey. He is highly adaptable to the needs of the individual student, and is able to impart his knowledge and skills to his students while maintaining a professional and friendly atmosphere.

Duane has experience playing multiple instruments, and although he prefers to play Guitar and Electric Bass, he has years of experience with Alto Saxophone and Piano, as well as a knowledge of Digital Audio. Throughout Duane's musical journey, he has thoroughly enjoyed the challenge of learning new things, and playing with new groups. He was a part of the Seattle based Progressive Metal group Esoson, where he played Electric Bass, as well as a Funk-Fusion project, Cavalerie, where he supplied the Bass to their unique Hip-Hop/Jazz sound. He has played venues such as El Corazon, White Elephant, Studio 7, PONCHO Concert Hall, The Kraken, and more venues in and around Seattle. He graduated with his Bachelor of Music from Cornish College of the Arts with a specialization in Performance on Guitar and Bass.
