D’Metrius is a multi instrumentalist performer and educator from New York. He received his bachelors degree in music performance from the Aaron Copland School of Music, and has been a professional musician and teacher for 8 years.
Before relocating to Orlando, D’Metrius played regularly with a variety of different groups such as percussion ensembles, a Balinese Gamelan, a salsa band, and a contemporary Christian rock group. He has also performed in pit orchestras for theater productions such as Into the Woods and Beauty and the Beast.
D’Metrius has experience teaching and playing drum set, classical percussion, Latin percussion, piano and voice. He is an experienced teacher in and out of the classroom who has prepared students for auditions and competitions on all levels. He believes in cultivating and expanding students’ musical interests to make them better musicians.
