    About David Levin

A teacher and artist involved in more projects than he ever imagined, David Levin is a lifelong performer and educator participating in and contributing to creativity, community, and inspiration in the Seattle area. Having collaborated with numerous flamenco, rock, and electronic music entertainers, as well as teachers from numerous disciplines, David enjoys being a positive influence both in the classroom setting and on stage.

Raised by professional flamenco musicians who were also teachers, a lifetime of musical performance and enthusiasm has allowed him the opportunity to meet and perform with people from around the world. Having performed with artists from West Africa, India, The Middle East, Europe, China, The Caribbean, Central and South America, as well as from all over The United States, he has found the world in his own backyard on a routine basis.

During his 18+ years of teaching, David has come to place the learner's experience in the classroom as his core motivation. While prepared with essential music curriculum, David understands that every learner is unique. As such, everyone who has lessons with David enjoys a learner-centered experience. David enjoys learning about what interests students most and highlighting these as core classroom topics. This most commonly occurs when a student shares what their favorite bands or songs are. David can then prepare these songs for learners and offer a step-by-step breakdown of each element so that even the most complex songs become more easily learned. David is happy to help guide students wherever they may be on their musical journey and enjoys getting them to the next level and beyond!
