    About David Cortez

    David Rene Cortez is a passionate and professional musician. He studied at Miami Dade College under Dr. David W. Brubeck, of whom was a pupil of the legendary Arnold Jacobs. Mr. Cortez was one of the original members of the “Brickell Brass” septet. After completing his collegiate studies, he continued his studies at the New World school of the art where he studied under the master trombonist John Kricker. David also studied guitar, voice and piano under the piano virtuoso Ciro Fordere.

    David has worked in numerous musical productions such as “Jekyll and Hyde,” “L’elisir D’amore,” “Le Miserable,” etc. He also had the honor of premiering a music compositional work of Brian Balmages’ “Elements.” He has had the pleasure of working with big names like Arturo Sandoval, Christopher O’Riley, the Dallas Brass, and the Boston Brass.

    Mr. Cortez finds joy in teaching music to others, Gardening , working on cars , and photography.
