About Chris Juris

Chris Juris is a guitarist, composer, and band leader from Mahwah, NJ. Chris first picked up the guitar at age 13, and within four years had a full scholarship to Berklee College of Music, graduating in 2014 with a degree in Performance and Composition. The one goal he has for all his students, is to get them playing music with others as quickly as possible. Learning early on that music is not strictly linear, Chris believes one can exponentially grow from a number of experiences. While a student, Chris led his own band at Wally's Jazz Cafe, holding a weekly residency for one year.

Chris has been recognized by the International Association for Jazz Education, Performed as a soloist with the Boston Pops, as well as received numerous awards from Berklee College of Music including The Walter Beasley Award, and Most Talented musician festival-wide at the Berklee High School Jazz Festival. Chris specializes in Jazz, Church, R&B, Pop, and Rock.
