About Catalina Zumbrum

Catalina Zumbrum was born into a large musically talented family and dove into her musical career with an excitement and passion she still retains to this day.

Catalina began her education at Lone Star College in Houston, TX and is currently studying Piano and Music Performance at Miami- Dade College.

Mrs. Zumbrum has studied under many inspiring teachers including a Spanish child prodigy, Mariblanca DePujadas, and a renowned music theorist, Edward Lawrence. During her time under these professors she participated in an elite pedagogy program where she developed a deep appreciation for music education.

Catalina began teaching family and friends and continued her music career at San Antonio Music Academy (SAMA) instructing over 30 students from 5 to 85 years old!

Music runs deep through the roots of Catalina's family tree; her father being a great classical guitarist, her sister and brother-in-law teaching strings through their own program in Houston, and her younger siblings already starting church choir. With her new three month old baby at home, she strives to share her great love and passion for this beautiful art with him as well as with other talented students she takes under her wing.
