About Casey Oconnor

Casey O’Connor’s musical journey began in grade school, where he first picked up drumsticks and quickly rose to become the First Chair drummer throughout high school. His passion for music expanded in junior high when he embraced the guitar, performing with school and church bands. After college, he transitioned to the bass, which became his primary instrument in the professional music scene.

With a background rooted in hands-on, real-world musical experience, Casey brings a unique, intuitive approach to teaching. He emphasizes the development of musical ear and overall musicality, alongside technical skills.

With a career spanning multiple states, Casey has shared the stage with industry legends. His professional credits include:

- Bass player for the iconic band Missouri

- Member of Special Forces, a premier tribute band to 38 Special

- Collaborations with Nashville-signed country artist Jimmy Harris

- Shared stages with renowned artists such as Clint Black, Eddie Rabbitt, Dixie Chicks, and Molly Hatchet

Beyond his performance career, Casey has extensive teaching experience at the Music Gallery and Music Al’s. He believes that music education should be engaging and enjoyable. By leveraging his real-world experience, Casey helps students find joy in playing while building a solid foundation on drums, guitar, or bass.
