Cameron Burch is a Brass Specialist and Piano Instructor who instructs all ages from young beginner through adult in the D.C. area. Specifically, he teaches Piano, Euphonium, French Horn, Trombone, Mellophone, Trumpet and Tuba.
Cameron received his BA in Music Education and Performance from Eastman School of Music, studying under many leading professionals in the field of music education and brass pedagogy. His instructors included Mark Kellogg, Allen Vizzutti and Stephen Williamson. In the area of Piano, Cameron received his training while earning his BA and uses the instrument as a tool in all his lessons -- even for Brass students. He enjoys the ability to teach general music and universal concepts through Piano and set strong foundations for younger students, especially.
Cameron enjoys teaching all ages and abilities and works a lot with Piano Students. He taught a Universal-PreK course at Klem North Elementary, in Webster, NY and taught 4th through 6th grade band at Byron-Bergen Elementary, in Bergen, NY. Cameron continued his work with high school students while teaching at Honeoye-Falls Lima High, Honeoye-Falls, NY, as well as the Jersey Surf World Class Drum and Bugle Corps, and teaching a summer as the Low Brass Instructor.
With all students, Cameron believes in setting strong foundations that develop the whole student from the start. This includes an emphasis on reading and technique development so that playing always feels comfortable and rewarding Outside of music and teaching, Cameron loves spending time with his two pet dogs, Lily and Lina, and enjoys playing new fun games!
