About Belle Yip

Classically trained in both piano and violin from a young age, music has always been a central part of Belle’s life. While taking lessons regularly for both instruments, her musical development was strongly influenced by former Singapore Symphony Orchestra violinist Ms. Olivia Luk, whose technical expertise and professional performance experience helped shape her artistry. Belle later continued her violin studies for two years with Mr. Felix Tam, the soloist with the Sha Tin Philharmonic Orchestra, refining and polishing her techniques.

Belle holds a Grade 8 Violin certificate from ABRSM. In addition to teaching, she is an active orchestra and ensemble musician. From 2013 to 2020, she performed as both a first and second violinist with the Sha Tin Philharmonic Orchestra in Hong Kong. From 2018 to 2022, she also performed with “The Love,” a private ensemble group for weddings and private events, where she served as second violinist and occasionally as second keyboardist.

Although Belle deeply enjoys performing, she sees teaching music as her true calling and is passionate about sharing it with others. To her, music is more than learning notes; it teaches discipline, perseverance, and consistency, and it adds depth and meaning to life. Rather than simply telling students what to do, she focuses on guiding the musical journey alongside them so that even students may not choose music as their career, music stays in their heart and the quality of a musician can still benefit them in a long run. For those who are interested in more advanced musical training, Belle is also very skillful and experienced in helping students to prepare for auditions, exams and competitions.

For the time she is not “musical”, she probably is working on her floral arts, or enjoying her Me-time reading, or travelling, or hoping her favorite sport teams win this year.
