Amy began her musical journey at the age of six, quickly discovering a love for music. At age 11, she added the cello to her repertoire, further broadening her musical horizons. Her dedication and talent shone through as she progressed, leading her to advanced studies under the guidance of Esther Wang, a piano professor at Gustavus Adolphus College in Minnesota.
In high school, Amy was immersed in a variety of musical experiences. She participated in her local youth community orchestra and other various ensembles. These opportunities gave her a rich foundation in solo and group performance, as well as choir and orchestral collaboration. She worked as an accompanist at Gustavus Adolphus, collaborating with music majors in practice sessions, performances, and senior recitals—a role that honed her collaborative and performance skills.
Beyond formal education, Amy brought her love of music to her church community, where she played weekly in services and helped create musical programs for monthly performances at nursing homes. These experiences deepened her understanding of music's ability to connect and uplift people.
As a teacher, Amy combines her extensive classical training with a deep passion for nurturing her students' love for music. She believes in fostering a growth mindset, tailoring lessons to each student’s unique strengths, interests, and learning styles, and creating a fun environment that fosters creativity. Amy values music as both a profound outlet for emotional expression and a transformative tool for personal growth, striving to inspire her students to experience the joy and depth of music in their own lives.
Amy relocated from Minnesota to Denver in 2021 to have greater access to the outdoors, and to become more involved in the arts community. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, camping, and attending concerts. She is also a graphic designer and loves all forms of artistic expression.
