About Thania Sanz
As a lyricist, she received a Grammy nomination as lyricist and lead vocal on the track "Mi Gente" . Her spanish translation of "Crying" was featured in the soundtrack for the David Lynch film, "Mulholland Drive". She also contributed two songs to "The Depraved" movie soundtrack as well as "Hollywood - The Latin Way", where she sings a beautiful rendition of "Color of the Wind" from "Pocahontas" (available on iTunes). Thania was co-writer on "Bailamos" for Alex Acuna and the Unknowns.
Some of her prestigous clients have included the UNIVISION MUSIC GROUP who signed her to an exclusive deal as writer, performer and organizer of music talent for Latin events. Thania also wrote, produced and performed for the TELEMUNDO programs, "Me Caso Contigo" and "Dona Risa" and "Al Extito". In 2006, a track from her album, BOLEROS, TU ME RECUERDAS was placed in the FX Network program, "THE SHIELD". In 2008,
Thania will have her first national TV production for Azteca America for the program, "AztePaca" where she will be writing, arranging, producing and performing all the music! In advertising, Thania's credits include jingles for Colgate, Herbal Essence and Palmolive to name a few.
Independently, as a producer and writer, Thania loves to arrange for vocals and harmonies.
She strives to defy labels in the commercial market and to develop and mature as a unique voice in the music business.
Thania has written, arranged, and produced four solo albums: BOLEROS, TU ME RECUERDAS, ENVIANDO SUENOS and her most recent album, ALAS PARA VOLVAR. She has also just completed a compilation CD, REGGAESON CON TUMBAO.
