    About Leonardo Garcia

    Leonardo has won top prizes in many guitar competitions which include the 1st Annual Houston Classical Minds Competition, 5th Annual Eastfield Collegiate Guitar Competition, the 4th Annual UTPA Guitar Competition, the 2nd Annual UTB/TSC Concerto Competition, the 10th Annual UTB Ensemble Competition and was a Semi-Finalist (only American) in the Alhambra USA World Guitar Competition. Some highlights of his career include live performances on public radio broadcast 88.9 fm, performance of Vivaldi Guitar Concerto RV93 with the UTB Orchestra, a book entitled "Classroom Guitar Curriculum" published by Seconda Prattica, and a premiere of original compositions in an HPAT Productions play entitled 'I Choose My Own Colors' based on Mexican artist Frida Kahlo. Leonardo has earned a Bachelors Degree in Music Education from UTB, a Masters Degree in Guitar Performance from SMU and is currently a Doctoral Candidate in Guitar Performance/Music Theory at the University of North Texas.
