    About Kristen Roberts

    Kristen Roberts is an active performer and music teacher in the Houston area. Introduced to classical music through an after-school strings program in her hometown, Kristen’s music education began on the violin. She took private lessons with Craig Sorgi (San Antonio Symphony, Assistant Concertmaster) and supplemented her studies with piano and music theory. At age 15 she began performing regularly with the Mid-Texas Symphony, and has since performed with a number of orchestras, including; Sewanee Festival Orchestra, Austin Wind Symphony, Brazosport Symphony, Interharmony International (Arcidosso GR, Italy and Sulzbach-Rosenberg, Germany), Houston Heights Orchestra, TMC Orchestra, Moores School Symphony, Opera, and Ballet Orchestras, TMF Festival Orchestra, and more. Beyond orchestral work Kristen is an established freelance musician, and performs frequently with touring artists such as the Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Idina Menzel, Lea Salonga, and vocal group Il Divo. In addition to performing, Kristen has taught private music lessons for the past five years and has always put great emphasis on music education. She teaches every age and skill-level, catering to any student’s learning style by employing a variety of teaching methods.

    Kristen has a Bachelors of Music from the University of Houston Moores School of Music where she studied with Professor Andrzej Grabiec. During her music studies she was concurrently enrolled in the UH Honors College, where she completed academic coursework at the Center for Creative Work.
