About Kailii Richardson

Kailii Richardson was born and raised in Miami Gardens, FL and has lived there for most of her life. For as long as she can remember, she has always been involved in music. Her grandmother signed her up for piano lessons when she was 7 years old and continued to play it throughout her elementary school days. But that wasn't all - While still attending Scott Lake Elementary School, she also participated in chorus and the band, where she learned how to play clarinet. When it was time to go to middle school, she auditioned for the performing arts magnet program at Norland Middle School and was accepted. While in middle school, she continued piano, but she also learned how to play the viola and participated in Norland Middle's String Orchestra. When it was time to move on to high school, she auditioned for Dr. Michael M. Krop Senior High School's performing arts magnet program on viola and piano and was accepted on both instruments. It was during her high school years that she developed more of an interest for viola than piano, so she dropped piano and opted to focus only on viola. For college, she auditioned for Florida Atlantic University's Music Department and was accepted with a music scholarship. While studying at FAU, she started playing piano again, learned how to play the violin in addition to viola and worked for Hoot/Wisdom Recordings (FAU's Record Label) as one of their licensed audio engineers.

Kailii graduated with Honors (Magna Cum Laude) from FAU on May 2, 2013 with a Bachelor of Music in Commercial Music with an emphasis in Technology and a minor in Studio Art. Currently, she is a Private Music Instructor for Violin, Viola and Piano. She is also an active member of Music For Every Occasion, a music company founded by Vivien Li & Heaven's Echo, a church music program founded by Ivette Portillo. She plans to volunteer at some recording studios in the area in order to receive more experience as an audio engineer. Her ultimate dream is to start her own non-profit organization that will be dedicated to providing affordable music lessons for children as well as providing a place where children can experience everything music has to offer, making them aware of all of the opportunities available in the music field at an early age and help them understand why music is so important.
