About Joseph Saenz
Joseph Saenz is from New Orleans, Louisiana and currently holds a Master of Music degree in flute performance from Florida International University as well as a Bachelors of Music in Flute Performance from the same university. Joseph studied flute under the instruction of Elissa Lakofsky, clarinet under Richard Hancock, oboe with Marco Navarrette, saxophone with Carlos Averhoff and the bassoon with Matthew Corey. While at FIU, Mr. Saenz performed with multiple ensembles including the Wind Ensemble, Symphony Band, Golden Panther Marching Band, Courtside Players, Flute Choir, Clarinet Choir, Woodwind Quintet, and Klezmer Ensemble. He is a member of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Fraternity, Κappa Kappa Psi - National Honorary Band Fraternity and the National Association for Music Education.
Mr. Saenz has performed in masterclasses for Walfrid Kujala, Keith Underwood, Jeff Zook and Sir. James Galway. He has performed on multiple woodwind instruments at different musical theater venues such as Miami Children's Theater and the Pembroke Pines Theater of the Arts for different musicals like Aida, Beauty and the Beast, Sweet Charity, My Fair Lady, Into the Woods, The Wedding Singer and more.
Mr. Saenz currently plays the flute, piccolo, oboe and clarinet with the South Florida Pride Wind Ensemble. He currently gives private lessons on all the woodwind instruments and instructs woodwind students at local high schools and middle schools as a Woodwind Technician.
