About Ben Herzick

Ben Herzick began playing guitar at age 11. He took to the instrument immediately and by high school was playing in local bands and with a nearby college jazz ensemble. Ben attended the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Florida where he studied jazz guitar with Kynch O'Kaine and Randall Dollahon. After graduation, Ben began working as an orchestra pit musician for the touring productions of Broadway musicals. He traveled to over 40 States, across Canada, and as far as Tokyo, Japan with the shows Hairspray, The Wedding Singer, and Avenue Q. In 2011 Ben came to North Texas to pursue a master's degree in jazz studies at the University of North Texas. He completed his degree in May 2013 and he continues to teach and play in the DFW area.
