About Anthony Mancini
Anthony is a guitarist and educator based in Kennesaw, GA. His first musical experiences began in middle school where he played the saxophone participating in District and State Honor Bands. Around the same time Anthony began playing guitar, applying what he was learning in band as well as playing the music that was being taught in the before-school guitar club. It was in high school that Anthony began formally taking lessons under Timothy Jones, which led to his auditioning for District and State Jazz band. Upon graduation, Anthony received that Louis Armstrong Jazz Award.
While in high school, Anthony began performing with groups such as The Eastridge Community Church Youth Worship Band, The Thomas Tillman Band. He also freelanced with local singer-songwriters around the Conyers and Covington area. Since beginning college Anthony has performed with: Stevie B, JCru, Southern Mischief, City Beat, and The Rockpoint Community Church Worship Band. While at Kennesaw State University Anthony has performed with: the Jazz Ensembles, Jazz Guitar Ensemble, Jazz Combos, and Concert Band and the Basketball Band. Performances of note include: Music Midtown, Inman Park Festival, Spoleto Music Festival, Centennial Olympic Park, The Jazz Educators Network Conference and the Georgia Music Educators Association Prism Concert.
Anthony will graduate from Kennesaw State University with a degree in both Performance and Music Education. Anthony post-graduation plans include becoming a band director. He also plans to continue to teach for Lessons in Your Home and maintain a private studio, clinic marching band, continue to perform, and to carry on his musical education.
