Throughout high school, he took music theory courses and was
awarded a music scholarship. After, A.J. continued his studies on
the collegiate level at Prairie View A&M University, where he
participated in various ensembles, and had a debut performance

UNT provided A.J. with an opportunity to concentrate on his
strengths: analysis and aural skills. Concurrently, Alfred was
exploring performance opportunities on keyboards with a local
band called "Angelicist." After earning his bachelor's degree in
Music Theory from UNT in 2011, A.J. began teaching private

In May 2013, A.J. relocated from Dallas to Denver, in order to
explore local performance opportunities, and begin his career as
a DJ. Denver offered A.J. a wide variety of venues and musical
diversity that was not available in Dallas. As a DJ, A.J. achieved
success with independent record labels and online music
distribution, which led to 5 local club gigs.
Over the years, A.J.'s passion for music helped develop a unique,
entertaining and educational lesson curriculum for beginning
musicians. A.J.'s students learn theory, technique, and
performance skills on their respective instrument through both
fun and challenging repertoire. In music lessons, we explore the
fundamentals of many academic subjects and life skills as the
creative aspects of musicianship.
